Ms. Randall-Bellinger holds an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Lesley University and a BA in Franco-African Literature from Scripps College in California. Her graduate work focused on Dance History and African American Literature, demonstrating how the body becomes text and text becomes movement. She was recently an assistant professor in the dance department at Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts, where she taught modern dance technique, dance composition, dance history, and dance in film survey. A dance educator and performer for over 25 years, Ms. Randall-Bellinger has served on the dance panel for the National Endowment of the Arts and has taught master classes for the American Dance Awards and at national conventions for Dance Masters of America. She trained and danced with Jamie Nichols of Fast Feet Inc., and was a company member of Karen McDonald’s New Age Dance Workshop in Los Angeles and The Haitian American Dance Company in Boston. She has researched, performed, and lectured throughout the United States as well as in Brazil, Ghana, Senegal, France, and the Czech Republic. She is also the artistic director of RootsUprising, a Boston based contemporary dance ensemble that she founded in 1998. In 2006 she co-founded the JANBE institute, a small cultural performing arts organization based in Port Au Prince, Haiti that focuses on the preservation of culture through the language of dance.
